The importance of micro chipping your pet cannot be overstated. Hopefully your pet never, ever goes missing. However, there is always that chance that it can occur. If it does, you want to be prepared.
We just recently had a great success story from a smart pet owner getting their cat microchipped. Here’s how it went…
A handsome short haired kitty was brought into our hospital for an exam and vaccinations on Monday. During the exam, it was mentioned that he was a found stray so our technicians immediately scanned him for a mircochip. HE HAD ONE!! Our hospital called the microchip company and it turns out that “Kato” had been missing from his home since JULY 7th (4 MONTHS)! Kato was reunited later that afternoon with his amazing family!!! (Kato is the cat in the photo.)
Our hospital is currently running a microchip special for only $25! It is a quick and painless procedure.
It is a inserted into your pet in between the shoulder blades. A micro chip is the size of a grain of rice. After the procedure is finished, you fill out paperwork with your name and contact information. This data is logged into an international database along with the data of the microchip in your pet.
A scanner is used to read the information if your pet goes missing and is found by someone who brings him or her into a vet clinic. It’s as simple as that and is only $25.
